Unusual but true: Virtual reality helps amputees

Food blogger demolishes 3 kg 'sandwich'

Social media star Kate Ovens, famed for her massive appetite, plowed her way through a giant lamb and chicken kebab — a dish dubbed "London's biggest kebab".
The 24-year-old demolished the 3kg "sandwich", despite the fact it contained an estimated 8,000 calories.
The massive kebab was eight times bigger than normal and contained four times the recommended daily energy intake for a woman.
Courageous chewer Ovens, who runs the successful Kate's Food Challenges Facebook page, took just under an hour to munch her way through the massive lamb and chicken doner kebab — because she needed to keep taking breaks.

Ovens, from Kennington in South London, was invited to try the massive kebab — which stood more than 6 inches tall and measured more than 18 inches long — at the new Fulham branch of German Doner Kebab in southwest London.
"Every bite was fantastic," she said. "It's just that there were a lot of bites."
Kate's hefty kebab contained lamb and chicken, as well as five-a-day portions of salad and tomatoes and lashings of garlic mayo.
What makes her mammoth eating feat more remarkable is it was her first challenge in more than two months — and she didn't do any training.
