'Ip Man 4: The Finale' hits North American big screen on Dec 25


Martial arts movies are the most popular and successful Chinese movies in North America. Ang Lee's artistic classic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon brought in 128 million dollars in the US in 2000, becoming the highest-grossing foreign-language film to date.
"The biopic movie franchise Ip Man has spanned for the past decade and has become the benchmark for martial arts movies having created a new generation for the kung fu film fans," said Jason Pfardrescher, executive vice president of Well Go USA.
"Well Go is incredibly grateful for being associated with such an iconic franchise and it's our hope that the legendary sifu (master) would be proud of what we've accomplished," he told Xinhua.
Well Go USA Entertainment is a theatrical and home entertainment distribution label specialized in bringing top Asian films to North American markets.
The US review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes gives Ip Man 4: The Finale a score of 89 percent based on 18 critics' reviews to date.
