The government is further accelerating efforts to publish consumers' complaints both online and offline, improving transparency of the market and enhancing confidence of customers, said Gan Lin, a member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, on Sunday.

Gan, who is also the deputy head of the State Administration for Market Regulation, said the administration is establishing an online platform to publish complaints filed by consumers.

"Consumers are also supervisors," said Gan. "Publishing complaints is not only an act of supervising but also serves as an encouragement for businesses."

Shopping with trust plays a key role in the stimulation of domestic consumption, she said. In addition to government's supervision and self-discipline from the businesses, it is crucial to set up a transparent system through publishing complaints to enhance consumer's right to know and right to select, therefore safeguarding consumers' rights.
