Anhui reports 61 new confirmed cases


East China's Anhui province reported 61 locally transmitted COVID-19 confirmed cases on Saturday, according to the provincial health commission's data released on Sunday morning.
Of the new cases, 60 were reported in the northern county of Sixian, which is governed by Suzhou city.
In addition, the province reported 231 asymptomatic carriers on Saturday, with 228 cases from Sixian.
Since June 26, Anhui has reported 105 locally transmitted confirmed cases and 467 local asymptomatic carriers by end of Saturday.
A team of experts from the National Health Commission had arrived at Sixian to handle the outbreak, according to a press conference held by Suzhou city's epidemic prevention and control headquarters on Friday night.
The authority said on Saturday night that the latest outbreak in Sixian was generally controllable and the authorities had been making full efforts to stop the virus from further spreading to other areas, according to China Central Television.
The county has started to conduct the sixth round of massive nucleic acid testing in most of its regions on Sunday morning.
