China provides humanitarian assistance to Belt and Road participants

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, the CPC Central Committee, deeply aware of the trend of human development and progress, has put forward the major initiative of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
In response to the Belt and Road Initiative development strategy and to serve the humanitarian and health undertakings of countries and regions participating in the BRI, the Red Cross Society of China has established a special fund to mobilize social forces, pool public welfare resources and make the RCSC's humanitarian diplomacy an important force for people-to-people exchanges under the initiative.
The RCSC has been undertaking projects in 23 participating countries and regions, improving people's health and lives in countries and regions taking part in the BRI.
