President Xi Jinping:

? China and Papua New Guinea are good friends, good partners and good brothers, and they have set an example of developing countries jointly promoting unity and coordination for mutual benefit and win-win results.

? China stands ready to work with Papua New Guinea to build a higher-level comprehensive strategic partnership for greater mutual benefit, and play a guiding and exemplary role in building a much closer China-Pacific island nations community with a shared future.

? China is also willing to work with Papua New Guinea to develop high-quality cooperation on a joint building of the Belt and Road, and expand partnerships in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, infrastructure, construction of special economic zones, disaster prevention and rescue operations, and green development.

? China encourages Chinese companies to invest in Papua New Guinea and increase imports of advantageous products from the island country.

? China adheres to equality, mutual respect, win-win cooperation, openness and inclusiveness in developing friendly relations with the Pacific island countries. It neither targets any third party nor does it take interest in geopolitical competitions.

Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape:

? Congratulations to Xi on the reelection as general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

? The friendship between the two nations is long-lasting with fresh vitality. The country will continue to resolutely adhere to the one-China policy, firmly support China in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity, stay committed to deepen trade and economic cooperation with China and intensify cultural and people-to-people exchanges. It welcomes Chinese investment.

? No forces will stop further development of relations between Papua New Guinea and China. Papua New Guinea is willing to continue to actively promote relations between the Pacific island countries and China.
