According to Chu Xiaobo, director of the museum, this will mark the first time artificial intelligence is involved in the design of an exhibition in a major Chinese museum. The AI initiative led by Chinese contemporary artist Cai Guoqiang will serve as the visual director and designer of the exhibition crafting a sensorial viewing experience based on interactions with Cai and his team.
Compared to the first exhibition of the Cartier Collection at the Shanghai Museum in 2004, this exhibition is distinctly more analytical, taking a fresh look at the bonds uniting China and Cartier, and also at a relatively unexplored yet intrinsic aspect of jewelry: magic, said Cartier Image, Style and Heritage Director Pierre Rainero.
