Chongqing senior official under investigation for serious violations

Lu Kehua, head of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Chongqing Municipal Committee, has been placed under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation, the country's top anti-graft watchdog announced on Monday.
According to a statement from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Commission of Supervision, Lu, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, is suspected of committing serious violations against Party discipline and national laws.
Born on October 1964, he graduated from Huazhong Agricultural University with a master in agronomy and worked at the Ministry of Housing and Rural-Urban Development. He was appointed as the vice mayor of Chongqing in 2018.
