Can you believe it? In Baicheng county, nestled at the foot of the Tianshan Mountain in Xinjiang, there's a cavalry unit.

Most of the mounted soldiers come from local Uygur herding families. The soldiers must master many skills such as lying down with the horse, standing up on horseback, horse jumping and horseback swordsmanship. Day after day, year after year, the Laohutai cavalry steadfastly guards the national border, ensuring the peace and happiness of the country and its people.
