Located 90 kilometers southwest of Kenya's capital Nairobi is the Olorgesailie Prehistoric Site, the world's renowned "factory of stone tools", owing to the large accumulation of discovered tools specifically hand axes used millions of years ago.

The site, situated on the floor of the Great Rift Valley between two extinct volcanoes?— Mount Olorgesailie and Mount Oldonyo Esakut, offers a memorable experience and rich information especially for archaeologists, palaeontologists, geologists and visitors with a passion for human evolution.

The site is characterized by in-situ prehistoric materials including hand axes, armor stones, flexes, and bones from extinct species of hippopotamus and elephant deposited more than one million years ago.
