Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, introduced the "Easy Go" luggage service ahead of Spring Festival this year, allowing tourists to explore the city without the hassle of carrying all their bags about with them.

The enhanced service builds on existing locker storage by delivering luggage to train seats or any tourist destination in the city. Travelers can book luggage transfers via a mobile app, ensuring their belongings are transported anywhere within the city while they move freely between attractions and shopping districts.

The service is also available for departing tourists, with options for next-day pickup and direct delivery to railway platforms or train seats.

Gong Jingwen, director of the Shangcheng District Culture and Tourism Promotion Center, said the district has developed a comprehensive luggage storage and delivery network, covering key locations such as Hubin commercial district and Hefang Street, as well as Hangzhou East and Hangzhou railway stations.

Tang Jian, deputy director of the Office at Hangzhou's Cultural and Tourism Development Center, said: "On the day of arrival in Hangzhou, tourists often need to head to their hotels first to drop off their luggage before starting their activities. Similarly, on their departure day, they may check out of the hotel in the morning but have an evening or afternoon flight or train.

"If they leave their luggage at the hotel, they must return later to pick it up, which is inconvenient and dampens their willingness to spend more free time and money on traveling."

Tourist Zhang Feng, who arrived at Hangzhou East Railway Station before the Spring Festival break, was pleased with the new service.

"Nowadays, people carry too many things when traveling, which is quite cumbersome. It's very convenient to have a delivery service so that I don't need to carry so many things on my way to the hotel. I can just carry a small bag, easy and simple."

Hu Yinyin, manager of the front office at Xinqiao Hotel, noted that since its implementation in October, the service has been well-received by tourists.

"We process around 80 to 90 orders per month. Guests often leave positive feedback on online travel platforms, mentioning how this service has reduced their luggage burden, which also helps boost customer loyalty and satisfaction for our hotel," Hu said.

According to the Hangzhou Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV and Tourism, over 70,000 tourists have used the luggage storage and delivery service.

The daily turnover of storage lockers exceeds 80 percent, and the station delivery service has achieved a 100 percent satisfaction rate with no complaints.
