In his message, he stated Chinese New Year is one of Australia's great cultural celebrations. Filled with color and energy, friendship and family, this festival is a wonderful reminder of our nation's rich diversity and the power of tradition to bring people together, Albanese said.
Albanese also expressed his respect for the Chinese community and extended his New Year greetings in the message.
"Representing renewal and transformation, the snake is admired for its wisdom and adaptability - characteristics that are so relevant to Australians as we continue to build a better future in this extraordinary country," he noted, "With these thoughts in mind, I pay tribute to Australians of Chinese heritage. The remarkable energy, ambition and drive brought by those who have come here is such an important part of our national story."
