Tibetan yaks, hunting dogs, deer, red-crowned cranes and horses … Beauty in Vitality, an ongoing exhibition at the National Art Museum of China, unveils before the audience a vivid, vibrant scene of nature, by showing dozens of animal sculptures in its collection.

The exhibition, running through to April 8, gathers the works of artists from different generations and employs distinctive approaches to the motif, such as a marble stone of Liu Kaiqu which spotlights the volume of a yak and the pure texture of the material, and a bronze bull that is poised in a fighting position, created by Pan He to symbolize an endeavoring spirit.

It is a celebration of the dynamism of nature, the preciousness of all living things and the harmony between men and the surroundings.
