KYIV - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held separate phone conversations with French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Zelensky's press office said Friday.

According to a statement on the Ukrainian presidential website, Zelensky discussed security guarantees for Ukraine with Macron, who is going to visit the United States next week.

Zelensky reaffirmed that achieving a just and lasting peace remains Kyiv's primary goal and emphasized the need for a strong future security architecture.

During his conversation with Trudeau, Zelensky discussed the continuation of military aid, energy cooperation, sanctions against Russia as well as the use of frozen Russian assets.

Trudeau and Zelensky agreed that any peaceful end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict must include Ukraine at the negotiating table, according to the Canadian Prime Minister's Office.

On Monday, Zelensky is set to meet European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who will visit Ukraine to mark the third anniversary of the outbreak of the conflict, according to local media reports.
