Posts from more than 40 global travel influencers who were taken on a China tour in mid-January have struck a chord with more than 80 million viewers online so far, according to statistics from the event's organizers Trip.com Group and Tripadvisor.

Those influencers travelled across ten cities, including Fuzhou of Fujian province, Nanchang and Jingdezhen of Jiangxi province, and Changsha of Hunan province through four themed routes.

This initiative aimed not only to showcase the intangible cultural heritage charm of these cities to global tourists but also opened a new window to China's rich cultural legacy and breathtaking natural landscapes.

According to Trip.com Group, its overseas platform witnessed a 7.5-fold increase in searches for Chinese lantern and temple fairs and theaters during Spring Festival, as compared with the same period of last year.

Trip.com states that it hopes to further elevate May 19th, known as China Tourism Day, into a Global China Tourism Festival.

Wang Wei, a senior official with the travel agency, says May marks the transition between spring and summer in China, offering pleasant weather.

Across the country, a variety of activities will be held around this festival, showcasing China's natural landscapes, historical culture, and folk customs through diverse perspectives and forms.

"We firmly believe that such an upgrade will spark greater interest among international tourists, encouraging them to learn about China, visit China, and ultimately fall in love with China," Wang says.
