Policies attract businesses to Sichuan

Private entrepreneurs and deputies to the 14th National People's Congress have given a thumbs-up to the business environment in Sichuan province.
Zhong Bo, an NPC deputy and chairman of the smart projector company XGIMI, said it benefits from the policy of additional tax deductions for research and development expenses.
"This allows us to invest more into core technology R&D and achieve technological independence through innovation," he said.
XGIMI is one of the few enterprises in China that has independently developed and produced the entire industrial chain from lenses, optical components to projection display equipment.
"Over the past 10 years of entrepreneurship in Chengdu, we have felt that the business environment is excellent. This includes various policies related to talent and funding," Zhong said.
Tang Anbin, an NPC deputy and chairman of Sichuan EM Technology, an electrical insulation material manufacturer in Mianyang, said that the local government offers subsidies for companies to recruit top talent.
"We moved our research institute to Chengdu, and within two years we have built a research team of more than 100," he said.
Last year, Tang's company developed a new technology and method for synthesis of maleimide resin for chip packaging substrates and hydrocarbon resin for high-speed PCB boards, breaking the monopoly of foreign companies.
"With the deep integration of DeepSeek and terminal devices like smartphones, it will continue to drive the development of the optoelectronic display industry, expanding the market demand for its upstream raw materials," Tang said.
Sichuan has released polices to improve the overall business environment, helping private companies obtain financing and reduce human resource costs, as well as the cost of using water, power, land and logistics, while also streamlining the government approval process.
