Chinese TV series to be shown in Africa

A 34-episode television series titled Xiao Mai Enters the Town produced by the Xi'an Qujiang Film and TV Group will air on prime television stations in Africa, China Daily learned on Thursday.

The series tells the story of a rural woman named Wang Xiaomai who accompanies her husband, Lin Mu, back to his home in Beijing, where she has to overcome many problems. The woman works hard and builds her own business and is finally accepted by Lin's family.

The television series won a number of national awards in China and was recommended by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television for the China-Africa cooperation in film and television project which was recently established.
