Regulations issued to chasten household maids

Household maids and nannies in Shaanxi province have been forbidden from wearing tight clothes and heavy makeup after the Association of Household Services issued regulations on industry workers recently.

The regulations require maids to pay attention to their personal hygiene, use only polite words towards customers, never be alone with the opposite sex in the same room or bring friends or relatives to their clients' homes.

The regulations also require maids to be over the age of 16 and to have finished junior high school.
