NPC endorses plan to revamp cabinet

The National People's Congress, the Chinese parliament, adopted a cabinet reshuffle plan at a plenary meeting here on Thursday in a bid to reduce bureaucracy and make the government more efficient in the world' most populous country.

The first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) holds the fourth plenary meeting at 9:00 a.m. Thursday.

Lawmakers will elect leaders of the legislature, state and military, and vote on a draft resolution on the plan of institutional reform and functional transformation of the State Council.
