By An Baijie | China Daily | Updated: 2015-10-28 07:47

China is willing to work with the international community to reach a new agreement on climate change during the United Nations conference in Paris in December, Premier Li Keqiang said on Tuesday.

China would like to push forward the reaching of a comprehensive, balanced and powerful agreement on climate change based on the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, Li said while meeting with Mogens Lykketoft, president of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.

Lykketoft began a two-day visit to Beijing on Tuesday at the invitation of the Chinese government. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with Chinese state leaders and foreign affairs officials.
