"The Interpreter" pockets 10 million in China

Sean Penn

The first-ever film shot at the United Nations, "The Interpreter", easily pocketed over ten million yuan at box offices across China over the weekend.

Starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn, the political thriller is this year's first film that premiered both in China and across the world at the same time on April 22.

Directed by Sydney Pollack, the film revolves around a South African U.N. interpreter who overhears a conversation involving an assassination that could topple a government.
