故宮節(jié)前開放新區(qū) 斷虹橋、十八槐古跡首次開放

9月29日，故宮博物院正式新開放西部斷虹橋至慈寧宮區(qū)域，將兩處之間的南北向通道打開，進一步擴大了開放面積，使觀眾能夠在參觀休憩、游賞古跡的同時，更多領(lǐng)略到皇家宮殿的神秘精彩。

9月29日，故宮博物院進一步擴大對公眾開放區(qū)域。

The Broken Rainbow Bridge and the Eighteen Ancient Pagoda Trees in the west of the palace compound opened to the public for the first time.
故宮西區(qū)的斷虹橋和十八槐古跡都是首次對外開放。

Seventy-six percent of the Forbidden City will be open by the end of this year, and more areas are waiting to receive visitors.
故宮的開放面積將在今年年底前達到76%，未來將有更多區(qū)域?qū)τ慰烷_放。

故宮（the Palace Museum），也叫紫禁城（the Forbidden City），是中國明清兩代的皇家宮殿（the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty），也是游客來北京的必游之地。北京故宮以三大殿為中心，占地72萬平方米，建筑面積約15萬平方米，有大小宮殿七十多座，房屋九千余間，是世界上現(xiàn)存規(guī)模最大、保存最為完整的木質(zhì)結(jié)構(gòu)古建筑之一（the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world）。

此次新開放的區(qū)域里有斷虹橋（the Broken Rainbow Bridge）和十八槐古跡（the Eighteen Ancient Pagoda Trees）等景點，故宮神秘的冰窖（the Ice House）目前正在進行準(zhǔn)備工作，近期也將開辟為觀眾服務(wù)區(qū)。此外，區(qū)域內(nèi)的故宮文化資產(chǎn)數(shù)字化應(yīng)用研究所的VR演播廳（virtual reality studio）也將面向有組織的學(xué)生團體預(yù)約觀看。
