這個來自北愛爾蘭的樂隊名字可能有點拗口，翻譯成中文是：我在遠遠地看著你。這個有著低調(diào)、憂郁色彩的名字恰好與樂隊極具爆發(fā)性的現(xiàn)場風格截然相反。從出道至今，And So I Watch You From Afar（以下簡稱ASIWYFA）一直是北愛爾蘭獨立音樂界的驕傲。

樂隊因杰出的現(xiàn)場表現(xiàn)而被當?shù)貥方缢熘?，還被英國著名媒體雜志NME評為當月最佳現(xiàn)場。ASIWYFA是一群音樂才子們的集合，首張迷你EP從創(chuàng)作到演繹，從制作到設(shè)計，到最終的發(fā)行權(quán)權(quán)由樂隊自己操辦。短短一個月之間，對他們的積極評價就遍布在了當?shù)馗鞔竺襟w，在把脈UK最流行音樂的BBC Radio 1上也獲得超高播放率。雖說是后搖樂隊，但樂隊深受硬核朋克鼻祖Fugazi影響，音樂中充滿了瘋狂和力量。2011年，樂隊發(fā)行專輯《Gangs》他們在俄羅斯進行了首次巡演，這次全國巡演的長度及廣度打破了所有歐西樂隊的記錄，同時，從主流大型的英國雷丁音樂節(jié)，到獨立樂迷鐘愛的美國SXSW，在大大小小的音樂節(jié)都可見到他們的身影。

即便是從未聽過ASIWYFA的音樂，也很難不愛上他們的現(xiàn)場。作為國內(nèi)獨立樂迷最愛的音樂風格之一，這支來自北愛爾蘭，高舉后搖旗幟的樂隊將來到國內(nèi)進行首次巡演，在上海、成都、重慶、麗江、北京為當?shù)貥访詭順O致的音樂體驗。

接著，北愛爾蘭的后搖大軍And So I Watch You From Afar （ASIWYFA）也將開啟他們的西南之旅。除了踏上四川及云南的綠色土地，還將拜訪中國西部創(chuàng)造力的據(jù)點：成都和重慶。ASIWYFA的舞臺爆發(fā)力和原創(chuàng)精神一定會給這些城市的樂迷留下深刻印象。

作為“藝述英國——英國藝術(shù)及創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)業(yè)節(jié)”的旗艦活動之一，“UK鬧！”系列巡演將帶來四支分別來自英國不同地區(qū)的樂隊，包括北愛爾蘭后搖強團And So I Watch You From Afar，威爾士數(shù)字搖滾樂隊Gallops，英倫靈魂樂新貴Jamie Woon以及蘇格蘭獨立廠牌The Fence Collective旗下的音樂人，展開一場別開生面的音樂旅行，包括為當?shù)氐囊魳贩諊⑷胄碌幕盍陀绊?，他們將充分融入當?shù)匚幕橙÷贸天`感，并在沿途演出中納入這些元素，反應(yīng)和生成出別樣的創(chuàng)造。

Brit Band Concert Series: And So I Watch You From Afar

One of the brightest and most dedicated bands to pop out of the Belfast scene in the past decade, Rory Friers, Johnny Adger and Chris Wee make up And So I Watch You From Afar (ASIWYFA). Playing a combination of hard-driving post-rock with hardcore and math-rock influences, ASIWYFA re-affirm our belief in dedication, hard work, and rock ’n’ roll.

This self-made instrumental juggernaut has been razing Belfast, Northern Ireland, to the ground with remarkable live performances that have been described by the press as stunning and unmissable, winning “gig of the month” from NME. After their much anticipated debut EP sold out in just six weeks, And So I Watch You From Afar were lauded by all the Irish and Northern Irish press and received high praise from Kerrang! magazine, becoming a firm favourite on BBC Radio 1.

After the 2011 release of their sophomore album, Gangs, ASIWYFA embarked on a whirlwind world tour with gigs in their home base of Belfast all the way to the wild reaches of Russian Siberia, Ukraine and Belarus. So far this year, they have played South by Southwest and embarked on a full-scale Canadian and US tour. This summer, China welcomes the boys from Belfast in proper style. Heading for China’s southwest, a mixture of wild, beautiful minority borderlands and some of the country’s most cosmopolitan metropolises, And So I Watch You From Afar’s indomitable DIY ethos is a perfect fit for the men and women living in what is still called China’s Wild West.
