“刪去下列法律中關(guān)于‘投機(jī)倒把’‘投機(jī)倒把罪’的規(guī)定，并作出修改”。本月24日提請(qǐng)十一屆全國人大常委會(huì)第十次會(huì)議再次審議的關(guān)于修改部分法律的決定草案做出如上規(guī)定。從今以后，“投機(jī)倒把”將成為歷史名詞。那么“投機(jī)倒把”用英文該如何表達(dá)呢？

去年十月，在一場反犯罪活動(dòng)的高潮中，縣糧食局和工商局控告販糧運(yùn)糧商江毛全（音）投機(jī)倒把罪。

在上面的報(bào)道中，speculation and profiteering就是指“投機(jī)倒把”，常以speculative buying（投機(jī)性買入）為開端，并在日后speculative selling（高價(jià)賣出），因此“投機(jī)倒把”還可以用speculative buying and selling來表達(dá)，這包括利用selling short（買空賣空）, hoarding and cornering（囤積居奇）, fraudulent purchase and resale（套購轉(zhuǎn)賣）等方式獲取暴利。

例如：Very few people know that he is engaged in speculative buying and selling.（很少有人知道他是做投機(jī)倒把生意的）。

在以往短缺經(jīng)濟(jì)和價(jià)格雙軌制的雙重作用下，社會(huì)還滋生出一大批靠speculation and profiteering發(fā)財(cái)?shù)摹暗範(fàn)敗?。他們憑借手中的權(quán)力，搞到平價(jià)的緊俏產(chǎn)品，然后高價(jià)賣出。這些“倒?fàn)敗本捅环Q為profiteer或者wheeler-dealer。
