A US delegation, headed by Victor L. Hoskins, Washington DC's deputy mayor, visited Zhongguancun Science Park and hosted an investment symposium on March 26.

Peng Qiang, vice-president of iSoftStone, and representatives from 10 major Zhongguancun-based companies also attended the event.

Hoskins introduced the five-year development plan for Washington DC, its business environment, and preferential policies for high-technology companies. He welcomed Zhongguancun to set up incubators or sub-parks in the district.

Zeng Xiaodong, director of Zhongguancun's business internationalization and the host of the event, introduced Zhongguancun's recent development and accepted the delegation's invitation. Company representatives showed their internationalization progress and discussed investment issues with the delegation.

Washington DC, as the capital and economic hub of the US, is home to nine world-famous institutions of higher learning and over 170 embassies and international organizations. The city's government provides numerous preferential policies for hi-tech companies to promote their development.

The event, as a communication platform, will further facilitate cooperation between the two sides through more frequent visits and the establishment of a liaison office.
