The fourth “Switch on Beijing” Culture and Arts Festival - organized by Yonghe sub-park of Beijing’s Zhongguancun Science Park - will start on August 16 in Ditan Park, Dongcheng District.
This 3-day event will include a display of international lighting design, a music festival – featuring famous local singers who will seek to convey the concept of “Green, Growth and Originality” in their songs - and also an exhibition that will focus on interactive programs involving the cultural and creative industries .
The festival, which will cost an estimated 5 million yuan ($817,000), is mainly financed through channels other than the government, thus setting a milestone in Yonghe Science Park’s drive to leverage market forces.
