Fujian province has developed a high-level talent recruitment project to build Pingtan, an island county in Fujian province, and Xiamen into special talent zones, according to Pingtan's official website.

Under the guidance of Pingtan's talent introduction plan, the island county will introduce 1,000 experts from Taiwan, employ 1,000 high-level talents from overseas, receive 1,000 young officials and cultivate 1,000 talents in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone.

The Pingtan special talent zone will give priority to talent development, utilizing its preferential policies, flexible mechanisms and good working environment. In five years, the zone will be built into a model talent accumulation area for cross-Straits talent communication and cooperation.

In addition to the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Xiamen, a renowned tourist city in the province, will also cultivate a batch of innovative talent groups for its special talent zone.

Fujian province also plans to build eight distinguished talent areas, 20 industrial talent bases and 25 expertise talent highlands.
