Pingtan has expanded its overseas agricultural market by exporting carrots to Japan and Malaysia for the first time, sources from the Pingtan branch of the Fujian Provincial Inspection and Quarantine Bureau said on Sunday.

A total of 426 tons of carrots grown by Pingtan farmers and valued at $216,000 were recently exported to Japan and Malaysia in 14 batches.
