With the last eight houses toppled down, a land procurement project in Aoqian village in Pingtan county, East China's Fujian province, came to an end on Sunday afternoon.

As of June 30, a total of 1,589 families in 855 house buildings have moved out for construction projects, said a government official in charge of the demolition work that lasted for more than two months.

The relocatees are supposed to move to new settlement houses arranged by local government, and will get compensation in return. What's more, they will enjoy favorable polices in sectors of health care, education of children, etc.
