The Fujian Provincial Public Security Bureau granted Pingtan county more exit and entry administration rights on Monday.
It means that starting from July 1, Pingtan's public security bureau will be able to examine and approve personal applications to go abroad, foreigner visa extension and reissuance applications, as well as residence permits in China.
Granting Pingtan county the privileged rights will enhance the efficiency and service level of the local exit and entry body, said an official from the provincial public security bureau.
Entry and exit applications have been on the rise in Pingtan in recent years. Statistics shows that 18,900 people and 25,901 people submitted relative applications in 2011 and 2012, respectively. In the first half of 2013 alone, as many as 19,292 people filed applications.
The local public security bureau pledged to beef up exit and entry management, and provide better services to all applicants.
