The second stage of construction of a new district featuring an intelligent urban life style is well underway as 39.5 million cubic meters of sand has already been used to cover 10 million square meters as part of its land reclamation project, in Pingtan county, Fujian province

The official website of the county, pingtan.gov.cn, said on Wednesday that the second stage of the Xingfuyang (Happiness Ocean) project has met its target, and the first stage of construction which was completed in early 2012, reclaimed about 8 million square meters of land from the sea.

Another 10 million cubic meters of sand will be used to form land for the project.
