The Hubei Provincial Tourism Bureau and China Tourism News launched a two-day Jingchu cultural experience tour for representatives of Chinese mainland and Hong Kong media, in Wuhan on Sept 2, hubeitour.gov.cn reported.
Jingchu culture refers to the culture of Hubei which dates back over three thousand years.
The group of about 20 media professionals included representatives from Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television (CCTV), China Tourism News, Hong Kong Ta Kung Pao, Hubei Daily and Hubei TV.
The group visited Jingshan county of the city of Jingmen on Sept 3, and toured the Yuanyangxi scenic spot and Meirengu valley.
Jingshan county is known for its cultural heritage and it is now aiming to make itself known in the field of sports, as a sort of tennis capital of China, and the visitors also had the chance to play tennis with professional coaches.
The local authorities expect that the media tour will increase awareness of Jingshan as a tourist destination.
