Zhouzhuang gave awards out to high-tech enterprises on Feb 26. Eight hundred enterprises received roughly 9 million yuan ($1.44 million) in prizes. This is the eighth year that Zhouzhuang has given out rewards to high-tech enterprise.

In order to improve the enterprises' inventive ability and accelerate economic transformation, Zhouzhuang established prizes in six categories for 17 projects, including a high-tech research prize, industry investment prize, management improvement prize, resource conservation and recycling prize, resource consolidation prize and personnel training prize. The bonuses for single items of merit reached 1 million yuan.
