The micro-film Dragon Boat Festival, jointly produced by the municipal government of Suzhou, will compete in the 2013 Beijing International Micro Movies Festival.

The micro-film festival is accepting scripts and films from May to September. Every work submitted to the festival can be appreciated on the official website. The festival will be divided into three parts, a Light Year Award, My Festival Award and Golden Finger Award.

According to the organizer, the festival focused on Suzhou and received plenty of works about love and tourism. But Dragon Boat Festival was the first and only submission emphasizing family affections through traditional festivals.

Dragon Boat Festival expresses family affection, recalling the memory of family and love among different generations. In addition, the lead actors are both natives from Suzhou. They speak the Suzhou dialect, which adds authenticity to the movie. The movie takes place in an ordinary peach park.
