Environmentally-friendly pigment project goes into operation

China's largest environmentally-friendly pigment project, with an annual production capacity of 15,000 tons of eco-friendly intaglio printing ink, opened in Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA), Nantong, Jiangsu province on May 25.

The project, with the Nantong branch of Japan-based Dainippon Ink and Chemicals Incorporated (DIC) at a cost of 105 million yuan ($17.15 million), adopts advanced production technologies and requires only four members of staff per shift.

All waste material during the production process can be recycled and reused so as to ensure compliance with standards regarding zero emissions and pollution.

The Japan-based Dainippon Ink and Chemicals Incorporated (DIC), a global leader in printing inks and organic pigments, consists of more than 300 subsidiaries in more than 60 countries and regions worldwide. The company has over 30 subsidiaries in China, and the Nantong branch is the largest in the country, with accumulated investment reaching $53 million.
