Zhangjiagang to enhance tourism development

Zhangjiagang city aims to receive more than 8 million tourists every year by the end of 2015 and receive 15 billion yuan ($2.45 billion) in tourism revenue, a yearly increase of 15 percent and over 18 percent respectively.
The city has adopted a guideline on further advancing tourism development and a three-year action plan (2013-15) to improve tourism. Efforts have been started to integrate tourism resources in the city, promote major tourism projects, foster advantageous tourism products, build up unique brands, strengthen construction of infrastructure of tourist areas and improve public service levels.
The city will focus on ecological tourism and urban environment in developing tourism and further dig into and enrich local culture so as to improve the core competitiveness of the tourism industry there.
