From November 19-20, President of Supreme People’s Court (SPC) Zhou Qiang made an investigative tour to Shanxi province, during which he called for furthering of judicial reform.

At the Taiyuan Intermediate People’s Court, Zhou inspected the work of judicial processing, trials, and information accumulation, and exchanged ideas with judges and policemen to solicit their views on judicial reform.

“Through the reform, judges will realize the unification of responsibilities, rights and interests. We must strive to solve the problems arising from the reform, and tackle them through deepening it and pushing it ahead.”

While visiting the Dongtaibao sub-court of Yingze District Court of Taiyuan, Zhou encouraged young judges to enhance their studies and constantly improve themselves through legal practice.

The court, to better solve grassroots disputes, has set up an office at a local home furniture market, enabling judges, police and administrative organs to work together to resolve minor civil disputes.
