Jinggu Industrial Park of Yunnan’s Pu’er city was officially awarded as a bio-industry demonstration base on April 22 this year.
Its application was approved by the provincial government last year. The industrial park has attached much importance on the bio-industry and put forward more preferential policies on finance and taxation to support the industry.
It also takes demonstration base construction as a driver to attract investment and seek economic growth.
It has brought in a group of bio-energy projects, such as the Zhongpu biomass power generation project.
By the end of 2012, enterprises in the park have reached 68, including 13 above a designated size, employing 6,160 workers. The park’s output value reached 2.32 billion yuan ($370 million), an increase of 20 percent year-on-year, while the industrial added value was 940 million yuan, an increase of 26 percent.
