An explosion is set off to release a barrier lake caused by mudslides in Zhouqu county, Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Gansu province, Aug 9, 2010. Lanzhou Military Area Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) set off the first explosion at 8:18 am on Monday, and conducted a second explosion at 9:34 am to accelerate the drainage of the lake.[Photo/CFP] |
