The 2025 Lantern Festival Garden Party was recently held in vibrant fashion at Bay Park, Siming district, Xiamen. The event featured activities such as garden lantern viewing, intangible cultural heritage performances, traditional hanfu lantern parades, as well as performances of traditional folk arts like Gezai Opera, puppet shows, and lion dances, all contributing to a warm and festive atmosphere.
In the evening at Bay Park, the specially themed lantern displays featuring serpentine-shaped lanterns and a poetry corridor that attracted crowds of residents. "These illuminated lanterns have lit up the entire night!" exclaimed Anna, a German tourist, as she pointed at the spiraling snake-shaped lanterns. "Each lantern captures the romance of Siming district."
The Spring Market drew a large crowd, with visitors queuing up to purchase a variety of items from themed booths. In addition to the authentic delicacies such as spring rolls, and tangyuan from both sides of the Strait, traditional handicrafts like lanterns and Chinese knots were also available. This allowed both residents and tourists to not only enjoy authentic cuisine but also immerse themselves in the unique charm of traditional culture.
The Zhongshan Road Spring Folk Customs Exhibition, Centennial Image Exhibition, and other cultural and tourism activities will be launched successively in the near future. Siming district will continue to explore the rich cultural and tourism resources within its jurisdiction, promoting the high-quality development of Xiamen's cultural and tourism economy.
