習(xí)近平：中英正成為“利益共同體”

Britain and China are becoming "increasingly interdependent" parts of a "community of shared interests", Chinese President Xi Jinping has told MPs and peers in an address to both Houses of Parliament.
中國國家主席習(xí)近平在向議會上下兩院的議員發(fā)表的演講中表示，中國和英國“越來越成為你中有我、我中有你的利益共同體”。

Speaking in Mandarin, Mr Xi said that he believed his four-day State visit to the UK was helping to lift the friendly relationship between the two countries to "a new height".
在這場中文演講中，習(xí)近平說，他希望對英國為期四天的國事訪問能夠幫助將中英友好關(guān)系推向“新高度”。

The address, in the lavish surroundings of Parliament's Royal Gallery, is a high point of the first state visit by a Chinese leader for 10 years.
這場在議會大廈裝飾奢華的皇家畫廊進(jìn)行的演講是習(xí)近平此行的一個高潮。此次訪問是中國國家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人10年以來首次對英國進(jìn)行國事訪問。

Language tips:

Shared interests是“共同利益”，community of shared interests則是“利益共同體”，這是此次習(xí)大大訪英之行的又一個關(guān)鍵詞。

Peer想必大家也不陌生，可以指同齡人或同等地位的人，但在英式英語中，它還有“貴族（a member of a nobility）”之意。

MPs and peers這個表達(dá)與英國的議會體系有關(guān)。英國的議會為兩院制（bicameral），由上議院（the House of Lords）和下議院（the House of Commons）組成，上議院又稱貴族院，下議院又稱平民院，兩院的名稱相當(dāng)直白地反映了議員的出身。雖然上議院是議會的一部分，但上院議員的稱呼并不是MPs（Members of Parliament），而是peers，更加正式的稱呼是Lords of Parliament。在實施兩院制的國家，MP通常專指下議院的議員，因為上議院和上院議員通常有另外的稱呼，比如Senate和對應(yīng)的senator。所以上文里的MPs and peers指的就是上下議院的議員啦。
