隨著國慶的腳步日益臨近，各項(xiàng)準(zhǔn)備工作逐步就緒。天安門城樓兩側(cè)觀禮臺前數(shù)百平方米的臨時觀禮臺已搭建完畢，國慶新聞中心也開始正式運(yùn)行。

9月17日，北京天安門城樓前的臨時觀禮臺上鋪上了紅毯。這個臨時觀禮臺是為即將到來的慶祝中華人民共和國建國六十周年而進(jìn)行的十一國慶閱兵搭建的。

文中的temporary viewing stand就是指“臨時觀禮臺”，搭建在Tian'anmen Rostrum（天安門城樓）前方。為確保國慶閱兵和聯(lián)歡順利進(jìn)行，Tian'anmen Square（天安門廣場）、Forbidden City（故宮）等iconic venues（地標(biāo)式景點(diǎn)）將臨時關(guān)閉。很多游客還希望在國慶期間去看flag raising ceremony（升旗儀式）。

十一當(dāng)天，國家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人和貴賓將在Tian'anmen Rostrum上觀看military and civilian parade（軍隊(duì)閱兵和群眾游行），當(dāng)天晚上，還將舉辦一場gala event（節(jié)日聯(lián)歡），Tian'anmen Square 東側(cè)的China National Museum（國家博物館）還搭建了observation deck（觀望臺）供游客欣賞廣場盛景。此外，廣場東側(cè)還設(shè)立了command center（指揮中心），負(fù)責(zé)國慶安保工作。
