今年的315晚會(huì)爆出某商業(yè)銀行員工出售儲(chǔ)戶資料謀利的行為，這兩天又聽(tīng)說(shuō)某購(gòu)物網(wǎng)站大量用戶帳戶被盜的新聞。在互聯(lián)網(wǎng)無(wú)處不在、無(wú)所不能的今天，我們要怎樣保護(hù)我們的隱私信息呢？各公司設(shè)立“首席隱私官”真的能管用嗎？

The Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) is a senior level executive within a business or organization who is responsible for managing the risks and business impacts of privacy laws and policies. The position is to ensure that personal data – whether of employees, customers or its clients’ customers – is handled appropriately.

首席隱私官（Chief Privacy Officer，CPO）指一家公司或機(jī)構(gòu)中負(fù)責(zé)保密政策及規(guī)定相關(guān)的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)和商業(yè)管理高級(jí)執(zhí)行官。該職位的主要責(zé)任是確保個(gè)人信息得到妥善處理，這里的個(gè)人包括公司員工、顧客或者公司客戶的顧客等。

The CPO position is relatively new and was created to respond to both consumer concern over the use of personal information, including medical data and financial information, and laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, legislation concerning data protection.

首席隱私官是一個(gè)新興的職位。創(chuàng)立這樣一個(gè)職位是為了應(yīng)對(duì)客戶對(duì)醫(yī)療及金融等個(gè)人信息使用的關(guān)注，同時(shí)也是對(duì)數(shù)據(jù)保護(hù)立法的回應(yīng)。

Data is the raw material for many companies, like steel used to be in the old days. You have to have procedures when handling private information, like you need to have procedures when handling chemicals.

對(duì)很多公司來(lái)說(shuō)，數(shù)據(jù)就是他們的原材料；就像過(guò)去鋼材是很多地方的原材料一樣。所以，處理個(gè)人信息的時(shí)候我們必須遵照一定的程序，這跟我們?cè)谔幚砘瘜W(xué)藥品時(shí)也要遵照程序是一個(gè)道理。
